Post Week 5 Non-Conference Projections

With non-conference games winding down, it’s no surprise to see that the SEC continued it’s domination of non-conference foes taking the top spot every week of the poll. The ACC became just the second team to project a winning record vs non-conference BCS teams. The Big Ten continued to hold the second place spot in the overall projected record and the record vs non-conference FBS teams. The MAC continues to sit in the basement in 2 of 3 categories.

What relevance does the relative performance of the football conferences have on anything of importance?

  • NIU_Huskies

The MAC already has three wins vs. BCS teams — Michigan State, Purdue, and Colorado. How could we be projected to only win two games vs. BCS teams?

Thank you for pointing that out. There was a flaw in the formula which has been fixed and the new chart should be posted in a few minutes. Thanks, Phil
