Week 7 Fantasy College Football Sneaky Plays

A special thanks to our friends at collegefootballgeek.com for providing us with their Sneaky Plays for Week 7

Do you need roster help this weekend, but missed out on the hot waiver wire pick ups?  Here are some sneaky, under-the-radar players who have favorable matchups this week.

Quarterbacks

Nick Florence QB Baylor vs. Iowa State:
All is not lost in Waco with the season ending injury to Robert Griffin. This former third stringer looked good in his first start against Kent State in Week 5. He struggled last week but that was against a stout Oklahoma D, so I’ll give him a pass. This week he should find plenty of success against a weak Cyclones defense.

Austin Dantin QB Toledo vs. Northern Illinois:
After starter Aaron Opelt went down with an injury, this Rocket filled in admirably and threw for 3 scores. If Dantin is called into duty again this weekend, the results should be very good (Opelt’s status is unclear at press time). The Rockets have a high powered offense with excellent skill players as Dantin’s disposal. We expect a typical MAC shoot out here with the ball flying all over the place.

Running Backs

Larry Caper RB Michigan State vs. Northwestern:
This youngster has progressed well thus far and looks to be the main man in the Spartan backfield with the injury to Winston. He did get banged up last week but is expected to be ready for the Wildcats this Saturday. He should be in line for at least 20 carries this week which will equate to a productive fantasy effort.

Andre Dixon RB Connecticut vs. Louisville:
The senior running back for the Huskies has put up nice numbers this year even in a 50/50 split carry situation. This week he gets to rush against a weak Cardinals defense that ranks 76th in the country against the run. I would expect Uconn to run all day long against Louisville and Dixon should be a big part of that attack.

Derrick Locke RB Kentucky vs. Auburn:
This speedy back has been surprisingly good so far in 2009. He is the main ball carrier and also catches a bunch of balls out of the back field. This week he may get even more carries as the Wildcats try to break in a new quarterback and also try to control the clock and keep the Auburn offense off the field.

Wide Receivers

Damian Williams WR USC vs. Notre Dame:
This Trojan has been a bit of a disappointment this year, but he is coming off back-to-back 100 yard receiving efforts. Enter Notre Dame and their putrid 110th ranked pass defense. The Trojans will have success through the air and Williams should be the main beneficiary of that success.

Jacoby Ford WR Clemson vs. Wake Forest:
This speedster has a great match up this week with Wake Forest coming to play in Death Valley. This game has all the making of a full-fledged fantasy fiesta with neither defense stopping anybody. The Deacons secondary has been horrible, as they have already given up 13 receiving touchdowns on the season. I can see Ford catching a couple of deep balls and taking at least one of them to the house.

Jarrett Boykin WR Virginia Tech vs. Georgia Tech:
The Hokies have shown a much-improved passing game in 2009 and this sophomore is one of the main reasons. This week he gets to take his shot at a pathetic Yellow Jacket secondary. He could easily find himself on the end of a deep bomb from Tyrod Taylor at least once on Saturday afternoon. He has scored in three straight games and there’s a decent chance he extends that streak to four by the time this contest is over.

Sneaky Defensive Plays:

Michigan vs. Delaware State
Mississippi State vs. Middle Tennessee State
