Week 9 College Fantasy Sneak Plays

A special thanks to our friends at CollegeFootballGeek.com for providing us with their Week 9 Sneaky Plays

Do you need roster help this weekend, but missed out on the hot waiver wire pick ups?  Here are some sneaky, under-the-radar players who have favorable matchups this week.

Quarterbacks

Jeff Tuel QB Washington State vs. Notre Dame:
It is really difficult to start any Cougar player against anybody, but this kid has looked good recently. He threw for an impressive 354 yards and 2 scores last week against Cal. Now he gets a crack at the putrid Irish pass defense. The Cougars will get killed, but Tuel should be able to post some nice numbers before this one is over.

Ryan Mallett QB Arkansas vs. Eastern Michigan:
This big signal caller has been very good at times this year and this week should be no different. This week he faces an Eastern Michigan team that surprisingly ranks #1 in the country against the pass. That ranking should drop quickly after the Razor Backs done throwing all over the Eagles

Jordan Jefferson QB LSU vs. Tulane:
Coming off his best game of the year in which he accounted for 250 yards of total offense and 3 scores, this sophomore should expand upon those numbers against the Green Wave of Tulane. It looks like the Tigers are becoming a pas first team as they continue to struggle running the football so Jefferson should have plenty of opportunities to torch the Tulane defense.

Running Backs

Dontrayevous Robinson RB Nebraska vs. Baylor:
The Huskers had planned to red shirt this freshman, but they took it off last week and he was the only bright spot in an otherwise miserable performance against Iowa State. With starter Roy Helu banged up and not being able to hold onto the football, Robinson saw 15 carries and responded with 77 yards and a touchdown. He should get a bunch of carries this week against an awful Baylor run defense. The Huskers will look to bounce back and this freshman should be a big part of that.

Armando Allen RB Notre Dame vs. Washington State:
Just as in every other week, start any running back that is playing against the Cougars. The Irish will be able to name their score this week and Allen should find plenty of open space to run will on Wazzu.

Allen Bradford RB USC vs. Oregon:
This Trojan ran wild last week as he filled in for Joe McKnight in the second half against Oregon State. He ran so well that he should see carries whether McKnight is healthy or not. This week he faces the Ducks in a huge game that will likely decide the winner of the Pac 10 this year. I’d expect Pete Carroll to use Bradford as a battering ram to wear down the Oregon defense.

Wide Receivers

Armon Binns WR Cincinnati vs. Syracuse:
This guy looks to have established himself as the Bear Cats number two receiver this season. He is coming off an effort of 75 yards and a score against Louisville. This week he faces the horrendous pass defense of Syracuse which ranks 115th in the country. This game should be ugly and the Cincy wide outs should all have a field day.

Malcolm Williams WR Texas vs. Oklahoma State:
This talented sophomore finally looks to be out of Mac Brown’s doghouse. He started last week against Missouri and looked pretty good. He is the deep threat that the Longhorns have been missing all year and I think he will catch a long one this week. With the Cowboys focusing on stopping Jordan Shipley, this kid may just be the man this week.

Week 8 Sneaky Defenses:

Clemson vs. Coastal Carolina
Cincinnati vs. Syracuse
Arkansas vs. Eastern Michigan
Notre Dame vs. Washington State
LSU vs. Tulane
