The big story here naturally is the firing of HC Childress and DC Frazier takes over. The Vikings season is over as its unlikely a 9-7 team will make the playoffs in the NFC this year and the only question that remains is whether QB Favre will be able to finish the season as he clearly is not the same player as LY and the return of WR Rice was too little too late. MIN has lost their last 8 games on the road in regular season play losing by a 27-17 avg score. Meanwhile the Redskins at one point had 7 players KO’d of the TEN game with injuries but they held on for a 19-16 win in OT. They had 14-5 FD and 242-123 yd edges at the end of the 2H and wore down the Titans with a 86-51 play edge and 13:35 TOP edge. MIN’s season is over while the Redskins still have outside hopes of a playoff bid

FBS Selections on Every Game!

November 26th, 2010 1 comment

For the last couple of years I have picked the games involving the Top 25 teams and thrown in a couple of upset picks. This year I thought you might be interested in who I think will win EACH FBS game this weekend. Every Friday I will give you my personal forecast on every game that involves a FBS team.

I list the projected scores from my computers forecast. Another column shows you the computers yardage forecast for each game. I think it will be interesting to see who the computer picks to win the yardage battle and see if they win the game. In my College Football magazine I have the plus and minus ratings. I update them weekly and then factor in the home edge and I will show you who the Plus Minus ratings forecast. I will also list who Vegas has favored to win each week and we can see how they do picking the actual winners of games. There is also a WEEKLY POLL which you can enter for free each week. What I will do is on Friday morning I will tabulate the vote on each game and list who the fans are picking to win the games.

Listed below are each of these category picks for this week and I will then have a running total for the season for them! Here are the selections……. Read more…

LY despite leading by 10 pts early 4Q, Arizona allowed Oregon to score the game-tying TD w/:06 left and eventually lost in 2OT costing them a shot at the Rose Bowl. TY the Ducks are one win away from tying the school record they set back in 2001. Both teams are off a late season bye. While Oregon had its worst offensive output of the season vs Cal (243 yds and 40 pts under season avg) but also arguably their best defensive performance as well (13 pts, 192 yds) in the 2 pt win. Arizona on the other hand continued to slip down the Pac-10 rankings after its 2nd consecutive conference loss as they have been outscored 66-38 vs Stanford and USC while the Ducks despite falling behind early outscored the Trojans and Cardinal by a score of 105-63. Autzen Stadium should be really rocking for the Ducks final home game and they improve to 11-0 setting up an intriguing “Civil War” matchup next week.

QB Schaub got a lot of attention by going to the hospital with a knee injury TW missing 1.5 practices. The starting C Myers tweaked his shoulder Thurs and his status is unknown. The Jets off two str OT wins on the road (1st time in NFL historu) but didn’t waste a lot of exertion on defense as you might think. QB Sanchez is expected to be fine and the Jets have no serious injuries of note. HOU defense is giving up 410 ypg on the road, which would rank #31 and are #28 with 28 ppg allowed on the road. Look for the Jets physical defense to make Schaub uncomfortable for a dominating win.
