Kickoff of the bowl season is just days away. From the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl to the Rose Bowl, we’ll be tuned in just like the rest you diehards. We’ve posted our first set of bowl previews, our fantasy sleepers , and even launched our College Fantasy Bowl Challenge. It is time now for the fantasy rankings.
The top quarterback spots should come as no surprise, though Houston’s Case Keenum takes bit of a hit going up against Air Force for the second straight year. Keenum was held to just to just 252 yards passing and one touchdown through the air last year (two on the ground) and Air Force is just as good on defense as they were a year ago…if not better. Keenum’s ranking and projections (which will be posted soon) are probably a bit high, but we’ll give him the benefit of the doubt that he can improve on last year’s showing.
The running backs are also about as you’d expect. A few sleeper names jump out; DeMaundray Woolridge could be in for a big day against Bowling Green, the Air Force tandem of Jared Tew and Asher Clark should run wild, as should Georgia’s Washaun Ealey and Caleb King
At wide receiver we have our standard issue top two in Freddie Barnes and Danario Alexander. I don’t think we’ll get too much argument there. But the rest of the top 30 is filled with some interesting names like Mohamed Sanu, Darvin Adams, LaVon Brazill, Antavious Wilson, Alshon Jeffery and a few others. You’ll probably want to stick with the tried and true if you are redrafting during the bowl season, but all of these could be nice sleeper picks to round out your roster.
Good luck to all in your fantasy leagues and those in our bowl challenge! Read more…

I can’t believe it’s the last week of the regular season for college football! I would like to take a minute to thank our friends at CFFinsider and CollegeFootballGeek.com for providing us with great Fantasy information throughout the season. Obviously there are fewer games this week, but once again I am picking surprise players who I expect to have a good week. I hope you have enjoyed reading some of my surprise picks this year as they have been very successful going 73-25-7 (74%) the last 10 weeks. Last week was particularly successful as my picks went 12-4-1 and here they are, the results from Week 13: Read more…

Need to bolster your roster? Here is a look at the top college fantasy football prospects who may be available on the waiver wire.
QUARTERBACKS
Warning: The pickings are slim this week. Hopefully, those of you still alive in your playoff run aren’t in need of a QB. Here are a few desperation possibilities:
Andrew Luck, Stanford (vs. Notre Dame)
We all know how bad the ND defense is. While Toby will gets his share of the workload, Luck should be good for a couple TDs of his own. Think of him as a BCS-only option.
Taylor Potts, Texas Tech (vs. Baylor)
Is it possible that Potts is somehow floating out there on your wire? If so, he’s worth snagging with Baylor up next. Potts looked shockingly good against the Sooners last week and will likely get the start again this week.
Jeff Van Camp, Florida Atlantic (vs. Western Kentucky)
FAU faces a bad Western Kentucky squad. If they decide to lean on the passing game, JVC could produce some nice stats. If they decide to put the ball in the belly of Alfred Morris 30 times, then this could be a bust waiting to happen. JVC is only an option is you are completely desperate at the QB position.

Happy Thanksgiving and welcome to my Thursday blog. Once again I am picking surprise players who I expect to have a good week and I have selected some pretty successful players recently with my picks going 61-21-6 (71%) the last 9 weeks. Last week was particularly successful as my picks went 11-4-2 and here are the results from week 12.
My Quarterback selections from last week:
Colt McCoy, Texas-McCoy hit 32 of 41 (78%) for 396 yards with 4 TD’s and 0 int in the Longhorns’ 51-20 win over Kansas on Senior Day. The 4 TD’s were a season-high for McCoy and I had called for McCoy to have his first 300-yard passing game in Big 12 play this season and he did just that! The 396 yards were also the most passing yards for a Jayhawk opponent this year. BIG WIN

Do you need roster help this weekend, but missed out on the hot waiver wire pick ups? Here are some sneaky, under-the-radar players who have favorable matchups this week.
My players of the week selections had a bit of an off week last week, but still went 9-5 with the QB’s really bringing down the record at 1-3. The record the last 7 weeks now stands at 41-16-4 (72%), so I’m sure you’ll see some more great surprise picks again this week. First a review of last week’s selections.
