CFFinsider’s Week 11 College Fantasy Rankings

November 12th, 2009 No comments

A special thanks to our friends at CFFinsider for providing us with their Week 11 Fantasy Rankings

We are taking our third stab at Case Keanu as our top rated quarterback.  Our apologies to Keenum owners.  Keenum threw for a combined three touchdowns the last two times we propped him up on our lofty perch (weeks 7 & 8).  But he’s been hot, throwing for over 500 yards in each of the last two games.  And it is time to get value out of your number one overall pick when it matters the most.

Not surprisingly, Colin Kaepernick is a close second.  While we don’t expect him to carve up Fresno State like he did San Jose State, there is not a hotter quarterback in the country the last five weeks.  Colt McCoy is the only BCS quarterback to make our top ten.

Week 10 College Fantasy Sneaky Plays

November 5th, 2009 No comments

A special thanks to our friends at CollegeFootballGeek.com for providing us with their Sneaky Plays for Week 10.

Do you need roster help this weekend, but missed out on the hot waiver wire pick ups?  Here are some sneaky, under-the-radar players who have favorable matchups this week.

Quarterbacks

Kyle Parker QB Clemson vs. Florida State:
This freshman signal caller has looked better as the season has gone on. This week he gets to play target practice with a pathetic Seminoles defense that ranks 97th in the country. The Tigers offense is starting to find its stride and Parker should have a bunch of opportunities for some big plays down the field.

Phil’s Week 10 Fantasy Picks

November 5th, 2009 No comments

Last week was another excellent week for my players of the week. I will grade it 8-3-1 and that means the last 6 weeks the record is 32-11-4 which pretty great for making mostly surprise picks! This week I have added a new category for those players who have great weeks almost every week including those leading the NCAA in their respective categories that will be facing weak defenses, and I will call it the “No Brainers”. First a review of last week’s picks.

CFFinsider’s Week 10 Fantasy Rankings

A special thanks to our friends at CFFinsider for providing us with their Week 10 Fantasy Rankings.

If you had told us back in August that Ryan Mathews would lead our running back rankings heading into Week 10 we’d nod in agreement, pleased that he recovered from his injury woes of 2008. If you told us that Chad Spann, Bernard Pierce and Lance Dunbar would join him in the top ten we would have done a little more research.

Forget preseason rankings and don’t worry about name recognition. It’s money time and backs that have done it all season and continue to see favorable matchups are the horses to whom you should hitch your wagon.

QUARTERBACKS

Riley Dodge, North Texas

Week 9: Rushing 15-70-3

Week 9: Passing 24-262-4

Now this is the Dodge we expected to see more of this year!  He must be considered a risky play down the stretch, but maybe he could catch fire if you are desperate at the QB position.

CFF Insiders Week 9 College Fantasy Rankings

A special thanks to our friends at CFFinsider for providing us with their Week 9 Rankings.

There is not a hotter quarterback right now than Colin Kaepernick.  After a slow start, Nevada is tearing through opponents, especially on the ground.  Notre Dame plays Washington State in San Antonio, Texas.  A showcase game for Charlie Weis and Texas recruits.  Anyone wearing a gold helmet this week should have a big day.   Our top fantasy running back Ryan Mathews is edged out this week by Lance Dunbar.   Dunbar has scored at least two touchdowns in the last four games and faces the Western Kentucky rushing defense that is ranked 119th in the country.  Who faces the worst worst rushing defense (Eastern Michigan)?   That would Michael Smith and Arkansas.  Smith is not a gimme in this one though, as he is still battling a hamstring injury.  This is a feast or famine game for Smith.   The same can be said for C.J. Spiller who is still bothered by a turf toe injury and facing Coastal Carolina.  Defensively, there are a lot of good options this week, starting with the Clemson defense.  Ohio State, Air Force and Penn State also look good.   For more rankings, projections and player news visit www.CFFinsider.com.
